International Women's Day at Hobbycraft | #ShopFloorHeroes
This week on Tuesday 8th March we celebrated International Women's Day. This is a day dedicated to uplifting the voices of women around the world, gaining greater visibility and enhancing the move towards equality. A number of Hobbycraft stores shared posts commemorating the occasion and recognising the incredible women working on the shop floor.
Hobbycraft Rushden Lakes celebrated International Women's Day by sharing this iconic self portrait by pioneering feminist artist Frida Kahlo. She never shied away from exploring the complexity of femininity and the courage it can take to be your authentic self. Sharing her work and commending not only her artwork but also her attitude to life feels like a fantastic way to celebrate the day!
Hobbycraft Warrington decided to celebrate International Women's Day by sharing some of their talented shop floor colleague's amazing creations. They start by sharing the work of Hannah, a fluid art expert who specialises in making colourful animal pieces. They also share her Instagram which is a great way to draw more attention to her work. As well as Hannah, the store also shouts out some of the fabulous projects by colleague Helen who specialises in crochet and brush lettering. It's great to see the stores uplifting their female colleagues by spreading their incredible work with followers.
Hobbycraft Crawley have shared this lovely snap of their shop floor team. This is a great way to let followers get to know the colleagues whilst also celebrating the amazing work they're doing in store. We also love the quote they've chosen to pair with the image!
We hope everyone had a great International Women's Day! We love the different ways the Hobbycraft stores chose to celebrate, did you do anything to commemorate the day? And who's the woman that inspires you the most?
