Welcome back to our weekly #ShopfloorHeroes blogpost, we hope you are keeping well!
As England heads into its second lockdown, we wanted to take some time (as we do each week) to celebrate shop floor workers and the amazing work they have been doing. Over the past week, Twitter has proved especially useful for stores as they have been able to update their customers with what is happening in their local store.
Below are a few tweets from Hobbycraft stores letting their customers know that although the store is closed, they are still offering click and collect services. Sharing imagery such as this is good because it allows customers to know what to expect when they pick up their order.
When using news update broadcasts for your store, here are a couple of tips to get you started:
- Remember to use a good quality photo and aim to feature a colleague in this photo.
- Ensure to use your brand hashtags as well as local ones to your store.
- Make sure to include up-beat copy.
In the past few months, we have also seen customers reach out to their local store to enquire about quiet periods and the best time for them to plan their visit. Here is an example from Hobbycraft Colchester:

It is great to see store colleagues using personal sign-offs as this allows the customer to know who they are talking to on Twitter.
